Microneedling

Helps to address the signs of aging as the natural structure of our skin deteriorates over time creating fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, and uneven skin texture. Microneedling also helps improve scarring from acne, surgical sites, injuries, and stretchmarks.

Microneedling created controlled micro-injury to the skin surface with fine needles that activate your body’s healing cascade and natural wound healing ability. Microneedling works at a cellular level inducing skin remodeling, collagen production, increased elastin, and smoother skin tone.

How does it work?
Wound repair consists of three main phases, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling:
Phase 1 (inflammation): The micro-injuries created using the skin pen triggers your body to activate your immune system to respond to the site of injury. This activation is targeted to disinfect, remove debris, and increase blood flow to the site that will then create healing and new tissue.

Phase 2 (proliferation): Granulation tissue is developed at the site of injury to rebuild the wound. There will be temporary collagen and elastin to help rebuild the extracellular matrix.

Phase 3 (remodeling): During this phase of healing the temporary collagen (type 3) developed during phase 2 is replaced with stronger collagen (type 1). Type 1 collagen has the ability to contract to tighten the skin.

Average Recovery Time
Post-treatment your skin will be pink to red in color that is similar to a sunburn. Over the next 2-3 days you may experience itching of the skin as the site of treatment heals.

Timeline for  Results
Skin texture changes will be seen in 0-3 days. The initial overall response of the controlled trauma from Microneedling takes 90 days for your body to reap the rewards, but instead of pushing results out 9 months for any one project, we like to layered results that are more obvious to you and it shortens the time frame needed to see improvements. Results vary by patient.
