PDO Thread Lifting

PDO (Polydioxanone) thread lift is a minimally invasive treatment aimed to assist with skin tightening, rejuvenation, toning of the tissue, collagen stimulation, and skin lifting.PDO thread assists with naturally sculpting the face using synthetic tension lines under the skin.

Typical treatment areas include cheek lifts, nose lift, acne scars, brow lift, lip volume, wrinkles, fine lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jaw line, mid face, glabella, and below the eyes.

PDO thread lifts are absorbable tension PDO sutures placed under skin to assist with lifting of the skin, decreasing wrinkles, synthesis of two different types of collagen. Initial results may be seen as soon as 3 weeks post treatment. PDO stimulates the natural production of collagen to help with your skin brightness, texture, and elasticity.

How does it work?
There are many different types of PDO threads, and it depends on the desired results and injection location that determines how many, and which threads will be used. The two general groups of threads are smooth threads or barbed threads. Smooth threads will assist with stimulating collagen, and the barbed threads assist with lifting and repositioning the skin.

Whenever PDO sutures are placed, many have seen immediate improvement. Two weeks after injection, the synthesis of elastin and collagen starts and will continue for up to 6 months. Aesthetic effects from PDO thread have been reported to last up to 18 months. Clinical observation has shown that PDO threads have increased the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and improved localized microcirculation. This turn stimulates the production of new collagen Type 1 and Type 3. With new collagen proteins being stimulated this leads to firmer skin, more elasticity, and improved hydration.

Average Recovery Time
Mild bruising, swelling, and soreness may last a few days up to 2 weeks. Your skin may feel tight in the beginning that typically resolves after 2 weeks.

Timeline for  Results
PDO suture thread lift results may take up to five weeks or longer for noticeable effects. The body will begin development of the natural protein of the body (elastin and collagen) after two weeks. This synthesis will continue for 6 months improving the look of your skin.

Results last 18 months on average and up to 24 months.
